Salmon P. Chase Elementary provides a comprehensive academic program for students in grades Pre-K-8th grades in the Logan Square Neighborhood.
Chase’s mission is to develop a love of learning, a drive for excellence and a compassion for humanity by providing student with the knowledge and skills necessary to be college and career ready through rigorous curriculum aligned to the Common Core State Standards.
Our highly-qualified teaching and support staff provide students with opportunities to be successful, as learners as well as individuals, using a variety of researched-based instructional practices. We motivate students to do their best and encourage them to continue to strive for excellence.
Chase is proud to announce that Our Spanish Bilingual/Blended Monolingual Head Start Programs received the Gold Circle of Quality Award. Our pre-school programs provide a high-quality developmentally appropriate curriculum that includes literacy, math, science, art, and technology.
Children’s Home and Aid (CHASI) continues to partner with Chase and provides a variety of wellness programs for students and parents.
Over the course of the school year, we offer a variety of field experiences for all of our students through field trips and excursions. Each year, the 7th grade students travel to our state capital, Springfield. The 8th grade students are provided the opportunity to participate in a trip to our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.
